Laholm has got the longest sand beach in Sweden – 12 kilometres! It seems almost endless when you are standing at the water’s edge. On selected parts car parking is permitted on the sand, and in one area dogs are allowed. In northern Mellbystrand there is an area dedicated for naturists. Laholmsbukten (Laholm’s bay) is also considered to be one Sweden’s best kite and wind surfing spots.
For those who prefer inland lakes or temperate swimming pools there are plenty of options – Glänninge Lake in central Laholm, Gate lake (Gatesjön) in Skogaby and the very popular Flammabadet in Knäred are some examples. Folkhälsocentrum’s (the Public Health Centre) indoor swimming pool is open all year round, for those who wish to bathe regardless of the weather.
